don't know much about regular magic, but here are a few spells related to fairies.

Stone Spell
This spell can be used to view fairies if they are nearby. Find a stone near the water's edge that has been worn own until it has a perfect hole formed into it. Hold it up to your eye and walk in a circle three times whilst chanting:

The fairies peek and they see me, now I'll peek and I'll see thee."

It will only work if you truly believe in your heart that fairies are real, but I don't think you should have much difficulty. It will only last until you blink or take the stone away from your eye.

Nightmare Remedy
Obtain some amethyst and keep it in a place were the sun and moon can reflect in it. Each night, say the following prayer before it:

Conjure circle round the bed
where I lay my weary head
that in it's gold and silver light
I will spend a peaceful night.

Light reflected in the amethyst acts as a beacon to a particular type of fairy that may enter dreams. Fairies tend to like sweets, so simply leave out something for them that night and they are sure to ward off any bad ones.

Basil Protection Spell
This spell can only be cast under the light of the full moon. You will need one orange candle, one carnation flower, a bowl of consecrated water, and basil. Dried will work, but fresh is better. Fairies with good-will tend to be more pleased with things that are lively.

In the bowl of consecrated water, set the carnation in the center. Next to it, the orange candle should be set with the basil before it. Light the orange candle and breathe deeply, clearing your mind of all else and visualize a barrier surrounding you in your mind to symbolize protection as a wish. As you continue to concentrate, you need to recite the following spell:

I call on the guardians
on the power of the Lord and the Lady
I surround myself with the protection of fire
I am supported by the strength and grace of earth
the winds bring me gentle shifts and the water's flow eases the energy in this time.
I believe in this protection and release my fears, so that I may connect to the pulse of life.
May this be done within the greater good.
So mote it be, and be it, it should.

Silently meditate for a period of time, then snuff the candle out. Scatter the basil on the ground under the light of the full moon and the spell will be complete. After that, if you feel you need extra protection at any point, light the candle again and let it burn whilst you sleep that night with small offerings of small pieces of cake and a bit of wine near the candle.

Though it would be difficult to compile everything I know about fairies, I have decided to write a brief list of some different types of fairies here:

-Ankou, similar to the commonly known grim reaper. He is not cruel, however, and is very kind to those he takes.
-Asparas, sky dancers often seen at weddings. They live in fig trees.
-Asrai, fairies that melt into pools of water in the sun or if touched by humans.
-Bean Nighe, a fairy similar to a banshee. She will wash the clothes of a human who is about to die in a nearby stream or river. They are usually born of women who die in childbirth.
-Barguest, which are usually similar to shaggy black dogs. They're loyal to those in power, so they howl with other dogs when someone important is going to pass.
-Bauchan, which are hobgoblin-like. They're pretty mischevious but whether they're dangerous or helpful depends on the individual.
-Bug-A-Boo kidnap children who misbehave.
-Bogies are different types of goblins. Bogles are bogies that tend to harm bad people.
-Brownies are extremely common fairies, all across the world. They look like small men with beards. They can be helpful, but they like to play tricks as well. Nothing harmful and they might become personally attached to some people in a family that they see often. If they turn evil, we tend to call them boggarts.
-Bugul-Noz is a shepard that lives in the forests of Brittany. I've never met him, but apparently he's very ugly and it's difficult for him to find friends because of it. He's supposed to be one of the kindest fairies you'll ever meet, though.
-Cluricauns are fairies who love alcohol.
-Coblynau are mining fairies. Miners love them because they only mine where there's a lot of rich ore, so spotting one on a rare occasion is very lucky.
-Corrigan are phantoms and shouldn't be trifled with.
-Disir are spirits that like to live in old houses, usually female.
-Duergar like to trick people into dying. They're similar to dwarves if dwarves got a laugh out of that sort of thing.
-Dullahan are headless fairies. They usually keep their heads at their side and are usually members of the Unseelie Court. Their whip is usually made from a human's corpse's spine. It's said that when they stop riding, it means someone is due to die there but that's mostly a rumor. Otherwise people would die every time they needed to take a break. They are very close to their horses. Gold pins can drive them away.
-Dwarves are short and bearded creatures who like to mine. They can't be seen in the sunlight, though. Most of them turn to stone or frogs in the sun, depending on the region they're from.
-Ellyllon are elves who work for Queen Mab and like to eat toadstools and fairy butter.
-Elves are human sized fairies. It's rare to see them outside of Elfame.
-The Fachan live in the West Highlands of Scotland. They're very rare and destructive and sometimes called "Peg Leg Jack" because it only has half of a body and a single, withered arm from its chest.
-Feeorin are small green fairies who are fond of music and dance.
-Fear dearig is a little red fairy. It's bad luck to refuse a request of his.
-Fyglia, which take animal forms and serve tend to pick individual people to hang around and protect.
-Gentry are Irish noble fairies that like to dress in white.
-Ghillie Dhu, who likes to dress in leaves and moss. They live in birch thickets.
-Glaistig are half-goat, half-women. They hide their goat half and try to seduce men to eat. They like to help children and the elderly, though.
-Goblins are small and meaner fairies as a whole. They commonly steal, amongst other fairies and humans alike. Some of them have a particular liking for socks.
-Golems are spirits who avenge wrongful deaths.
-Grants are horses that run through towns they've become attached to to warn those who live in it of coming danger.
-Gwradegg Annwn are lake fairies who like to marry humans, but they've got odd behaviors after that and if striken three times they leave.
-Hags are elderly goddesses. In the winter, they tend to be old and ugly but in the spring they'll turn into beautiful women. If mistreated for their appearance, they'll punish those who wronged them but may reward those who were kind regardless of their looks. Unless they're Black Annis, who just eat people.
-Jack in Irons is a giant who walks along empty, less traveled and lonely roads.
-Kelpie

are water horses that eat humans, except the liver.
-Klaboutermannikin are fairies who live in ships, often protecting and guiding them.
-Korred like to live at and guard standing stones from harm. They usually live around Brittany.
-Leprechaun, who are actually fairy shoemakers, like to drink and smoke. They do like gold, but they aren't really any kind of creature that lives around rainbows. They tend to prefer living in cellars.
-Lunantishess guard blackthorn trees and sloes. On the eleventh of November and May, they won't let anyone cut anything from them.
-Ly Erg are soldier fairies who like to hide amongst human armies, though their hands are always covered in red.
-The Merrow are merpeople. They're very beautiful and can be kind, but if they're angered they will pull humans into the water and drown them.

They hold the sword of the Blue Earl Knight.
-Nagas have human-like upper halves and snake bottoms.
-The Nuckalavee is similar to Kelpie, except evil.

[ As a note, the kelpie eating humans is not something she considers particularly evil since many fairies do it, just as humans eat animals and sometimes try to eat fairies that look like animals. He's not that bad of a guy, really. ]

It has no skin, with black blood in its veins and fiery eyes. Its head is so large that its neck can barely hold it up. It shows no mercy and the only way to escape it is to cross fresh running water.
-Nymphs are fairies of specific areas. There are Celestial, Sea, Land, Wood, and Underworld Nymphs. They help nature to thrive.
-Pechs help build castles. The ones that stand the longest are often ones who had help from pechs.
-Peg Powlers are hags with sharp teeth that drown people.
-People of the Hills are fairies who live in green mounds.
-Phooka are goblins that like to carry unwary travelers off and dump them somewhere like mires or ditches so that they're lost. They sometimes looks like horses or bulls.
-Pixies tend to stick around Cornwall, Somerset, and Devon and like to mislead travelers. They usually dress in green.
-Portunes help out on farms and in exchange will use a farm's fires and roast frogs on the coals.
-Puck are shapeshifter fairies. They like to play tricks.
-Rakshasas are half-demon, half-goblin fairies. Like pucks, they shapeshift but they're much more dangerous. They tend to cause leprosy, necromance, and they can regenerate severed limbs.
-Redcaps are fairies whose caps are dyed in the blood of human travelers that they killed. They carry iron pikes and are very fast.
-Selkies are seal fairies. If a woman discards her skin, she can come ashore as a beautiful woman and if her skin is stolen, she has to do as the thief asks no matter what it is. Be it marriage or slavery or anything in between, it is their duty until they are able to regain their skins. The men raise storms and sink ships to avenge slaughtered seals.
-Shellycoat are bogies that haunt resh water streams. Though most can't see them anymore, humans can still hear them because they wear a lot of shells that clatter when they move.
-Sidhe are tall, Gaelic fairies. Earthly ones shine and opalescent ones are those that belong in the heavens. There are underworldly ones as well, though I haven't seen one myself. I'm not particularly sure what they would look like.
-Silkies are spectral fairies that are weak against rowan wood crosses.
-Spriggans are fairies that can inflate themselves into giant monsters. They like to guard treasure, but they also have a tendency to rob for it and kidnap children, replacing them with their own. Those children are called "changlings."
-Sylphs are fairies of the air and wind and have some abilities to control it.
-Tiddy Men live in Lincolnshire. They're generally benevolent and hold power over nature, sometimes even helping to withdraw floodwaters.
-Trolls are cave dwelling fairies who hate sunlight.
-Trows are similar to trolls, though they have a strange dance called henking. It looks odd because they have limps, so the entire dance is lopsided.
-Tylwyth Teg are fairies that tend to kidnap people and whisk them away to the fairy world. They love golden hair and are the ones responsible for leaving fairy rings. Incidentally, if you ever see a fairy ring, don't go into it. They are traps, not something to be taken lightly if they're real. Sometimes they give riches to the people they like as long as those people don't speak of them.
-Urisk are fairies that haunt lonely pools. They like humans, but since most humans can't see fairies they are usually ignored. If they are seen and what they are isn't known, they can be terrifying as well. They mostly just like to talk, though.
-Virikas are small spectral fairies that are red in color. They like to throw parties outside of the homes of people who are going to die soon.
-Will o' the Wisp are the souls of children who have died. It's not a good idea to follow them.

Many fairies from Scotland live in the fairy world, Elfame, which is overseen by the Fairy Queen and her subjects. The Fairy Queen is supposedly engaged to the Blue Knight Earl, but only if she can obtain the moon and present it to him. The Blue Knight Earl is human nobility who owns land in the fairy world and had sworn loyalty to England's royal family in the human world. As for fairies themselves, the good fairies of the fairy world tend to work under the Fairy Queen and are a part of the Seelie Court, whereas malignant fairies are the Unseelie Court. Another special note that you should know is that if you are ever taken to the fairy world, don't eat anything or you won't be able to leave.

This isn't a complete list, but it's most of what I could come up with off the top of my head. There are a lot of more specific types of fairies even under these types and famous individual fairies as well, like Gwendolen, the Mist Fairy, the Blue Men of Minch, Yann-an-Od, Mother Holle..There are a lot. To the Fairy Doctor:

Some of the more advanced summonings described in these books are probably beyond your level - at the moment - so it'd probably be smart just to study them until I can get over there. Just in case, okay? It'd be stupid if everything went wrong when it could have been prevented.

The 72 Great Demons, in particular, might be of interest. They can be bound and sometimes can be of some use. I wouldn't rely on them as your only summons - some witches do.

Here's a few that might be of interest.

-Marax. He's one of the Presidents. He can give knowledge in the studies of the stars and matters of politics. He can also summon familiars who know a lot about rocks and herbs. His discipline might be useful for further magical study.
-Astaroth, a Duke. Better to contract this one in the winter. She's rather clever, being able to uncover secrets. It probably would be smart to use her for divination.
-Stolas is one of the Princes. He's a teacher of sorts, focusing on stars and the properties of plants and rocks. It's best to wear his symbol if you want to use his abilities for long periods.
-Focalor is another Duke. He's more of a protector than a teacher. He will strike down enemies but also warn of possible attacks. If you see him or his symbol in your dreams? It's his way of saying that trouble's ahead. He's also good at cleansing magic.
-King Vine. He can build towers or summon storms. He can also give insight.
-Haagenti the President. He rules over alchemy. Changing water into wine, lead into gold, that sort of thing. Change is the spice of life, right?
-Andromalius is an Earl. Protects against thieves and harm. Best to keep at least one buffer around.
-Duke Uvall. For social situations. It's not exactly a bad thing to keep your influence up.

Just some ideas... Though, we'll be talking more so it's not that big of a deal.
